Lessons

Lesson 1 – Making Changes

Length: 13 minutesComplexity: Easy

In this first lesson, we talk about how to start making the changes we’re making in this course (which I illustrate with a new pink shirt!). I talk about resistance as well as the practical changes you’ll be making in this course.

Lesson 5 — Mindful Eating

Length: 20 minutesComplexity: Standard

We usually eat mindlessly, talking or reading or watching, instead of paying attention to our food. It’s been conditioned in us for our whole lives, through years of avoiding paying attention to our eating. In this lesson, we’ll look at why we *should* pay attention, and different ways we can practice mindfulness while eating.

Lesson 6 — Meal & Grocery Planning

Length: 15 minutesComplexity: Standard

This isn’t the sexiest lesson topic, because most people don’t get excited about meal planning, nor grocery shopping. However, it’s an area of excellent growth for a lot of people who struggle with healthy eating changes, because it’s not hard to do and it cuts down on common obstacles. In this lesson, I’ll give some of my favorite tips to make meal planning & grocery shopping easier, plus I share a video with some advanced planning techniques.

Lesson 10 — Food Addictions with guest expert Brooke

Length: 34 minutesComplexity: Standard

In this lesson, I interviewed Brooke of Excess Matters about her incredible story of overcoming food addiction. She’s lost 107 lbs. from a high of over 300 lbs., all from experimenting with cutting out her food addictions. It’s a fascinating story, and a must-watch for anyone dealing with food addictions. Plus, I share some of my own findings with food addictions.

Lesson 11 — Food Aversions

Length: 13 minutesComplexity: Standard

A lot of us were picky eaters when we were kids — Unfortunately, as adults, we’re often still pretty picky. In this lesson, I talk about what’s wrong with having food aversions, and how to find the Middle Way through self-exposure to your aversions.
