By Leo Babauta

In this webinar, we go to the heart of the self-confidence habit, which is developing trust in our basic goodness. That trust makes true confidence in ourselves possible. I also answered some awesome questions.

I’ve broken this webinar recording into two parts:

  1. Part I – My Talk: Developing Trust in Our Basic Goodness. (See notes)
  2. Part II – Questions & Answers: I talked about the updates to our HabitApp, questions about being our own worst enemy, how habits shift after travel or distractions, the difference between trust in your basic goodness and self-compassion, procrastination and self-discipline, and more!

Developing Trust in Our Basic Goodness.:

Why is this related to self-confidence and why is it an important topic?

This is one of the most important topics we will talk about in Sea Change and in our lives. We will talk about inadequacy and lack of self-confidence.

Why does this happen and how do we deal with it?

If we make these up and they are not real, what would happen if we decided to drop the fabrications?

The Good Heart and goodness is in us.

Trust that this goodness is always there.

The Practice is very simple.
1. Sit in meditation.
2. Notice the mental fabrications coming up.
3. See the goodness in your heart.

Just try it. Practice every day and check-in throughout the day. Tune into your experience. Drop the shoulds and feel the goodness within you. You will begin to trust in yourself. And you will know that no matter how badly you screw up there is goodness always there.
