In this overview, we talk about creating long-term habits and what they actually are.
- Look at them as on a project that will take some time to accomplish.
- We need to create a habit that will last for a long time.
- Examples: learning new language, running a marathon, weight loss, financial transformation,
- It is not about setting it and forgetting it.
- There is a lot of mini projects that will lead to main, big projects.
- Challenge comes from loosing focus, discouragement, not getting positive feedback, loosing energy and dropping off.
- We need to re-focus ourselves.
- Periodically coming to the new plan.
- Our own discouragement as main obstacle.
- Breakthrough comes from keeping focus on it and staying with it.
- We take set of skills, meta-skills, and really deepen into it.
- Longer-term vision and structure.
- Weakly and monthly reflections.
- Finding internal motivation is the key as well.
- Self-compassion is important as well.
- Learning form our miss-steps.
- Plan for this month is to start longer-term habit.
- Pick one and create a vision and structure.
- Work on the habit this month and deepen in to these skills as you work on the habit.
- At the end of this month we will set up the plan beyond the month to continue working on this longer- term habit.
- Plan should include accountability to check in with others at least monthly.
- Commit to it as it will create an access for you to long-term transformation.
